Serving the people of Kirk Langley

GB Barrington Playing Field Trust is a charitable trust overseen by Kirk Langely Parish Council. The charity came into being in 1952 and member Councillors of Kirk Langley Parish Council are appointed trustees. The governing document is a conveyance dated 23 October 1952, made between The Derby Diocesan Council (The Vendor), Miss Dulce Dolores Bainbridge Barrington (The donor) and The Parish Council of Kirk Langley.

This essentially was a gift from Miss Barrington to the Council, made on the understanding that outdoor sport would continue at the playing field and Pavilion for future generations.

Cricket and football are widely supported with home teams making use of the pavilion and playing field for training and matches. The playing field is also used regularly by Kirk Langley Primary School for their annual sports day and other sporting activities.
